William Losey

August 16, 1946 — June 3, 2021

WILLIAM RUSSELL LOSEY

We all have times in our lives that suck the air from our lungs, crush our dreams, make us feel empty. Bill Losey, husband of almost five years, succumbed to complications from COVID-19 on June 3, 2021. Bill was born in Somerset, NJ on August 16, 1946, a good year. He married his first wife, Patt Wetzel, from New Brunswick, NJ on March 5,1967. They lived in Somerset, NJ where they raised their family. Bill served in the National Guard and was a tank commander. Bill and Patt adopted two children, Christine and Scott, from Nicaragua in 1980. Bill lost Patt in July of 2012, caring for her through nine years of battling with ovarian cancer. In June of 2013, after meeting Jan Peterson, Bill and Jan moved to Fruita, Colorado, where his new life began in a place he compared to Mayberry, and cowboy culture was refreshing.
Bill was an active member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association for many years. Bill was an avid photographer and artist, creating beautifully enhanced pictures from landscapes to pets. He also returned to playing jazz guitar, a longtime love. His sense of humor was abundant and entertaining. He was active in his new community and loved to travel to national parks and other interesting areas with Jan and their dog, Bentley.
Bill is survived: by his daughter, Christine Losey Bull in Cleavland, TX; his son, Scott Losey in Hillsborough, NJ; his wife, Jan Peterson of Fruita, CO, and 7 grandchildren, Adriana, Jonathan, Joseph, Zachary, Tyler, Sophia an Evan.
No service is planned at this time.
I've just lost my best friend, and love of life. You will always be with me, Bill. I will love you forever. I know you are at peace and angels’ wings cradle you.
