Ruth Ann (Hogan) Tinkle

AKA Grandma Shorty

Ruth Ann (Hogan) Tinkle

01/28/1941 - 11/18/2021

Ruth Ann Tinkle was born to Earl and Nellie (Collins) Hogan in Kit Carson Colorado.   She passed away following a short but courageous battle with a brain tumor.  Her biggest worry was leaving behind and not being able to care for her Husband Herbie.

She was the second of five children, with sisters Edna Jane Kleeman, Mary Catherine Petry and brothers Herbert (Butch) Hogan and Don Hogan, all surviving.

After graduation, she moved to Leadville Co. and met the love of her life and Husband of 59 ½ years, Herbert (Herbie) Tinkle.  Together they raised their four children Eddie (Vicky) Tinkle, Kristie (Mark) Gomez, Cindy (Doug) Barnett, Melody (Ed) Lundquist.  They have 10 grandchildren, Chris (Corrie), Alicia, Quinton, Tenneya (Joseph), Kelsi (Jonathan), Mauri (Mason), Alex, Tori, Addy, and Erik and 4 ½ great grandchildren, Emma, Ridge, Ryker, Colton and Baby Boy (coming soon). Family and service to others were the most important things to her.  Together, Ruth and Herb had a huge impact on those around them, but always humbly and quietly behind the scenes. Their home and kitchen were always open to all who needed it and they fed countless meals to family, friends and strangers alike.

Honoring her request, we will be having graveside services on Friday Dec. 3, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2630 Riverside Parkway at 10am with a private family viewing the evening before.  Following the services, there will be a celebratory meal at the Grand Junction Church of Christ, located at 29 and Patterson.

Because of her love for the Colorado and Grand Junction Rockies, please wear Rockies colors  and let's send her off with a Grand Slam of love and laughter.

In Lieu of flowers, please adopt a family in need for Christmas or donate to your favorite food bank.
