Ronald Struwe

Ronald William Struwe, age 89, died Thursday June 14, 2022, following a long illness.

Born July 18th, 1932, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Ann Struwe.

He grew up in Chicago and attended and graduated high school there.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Corporal, serving during the Korean conflict.  After he returned from his service, he met and married the love of his life, Nellie.   They built a life together, raising a family, with Ron working for a newspaper in display advertising for several years.  He held numerous other jobs in his life as well to support the family.  Ron was an outgoing, vibrant personality and had many interests including, softball, bowling, camping and boating.  He adored his family and recently celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary with his wife, Nellie on June 4th.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Irene Kulik, brother Charles Struwe and sister Carol Sulikowski.

Ron is survived by his wife, Nellie, daughter Kathie (Dean) Harris, of Battlement Mesa, CO. sons, Bob Struwe of Rifle CO, and Charlie (Kris) Struwe of Roscoe, IL

He left behind grandchildren, Tara (Reb) Bowman, Ashley (Patrick) Unverferth, Michael (Sarah) Struwe, Megan (Mark) Manimtim and Levi Trujillo and many great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, at 11 am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 150 Sipprelle Drive in Battlement Mesa CO.  Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Rifle Cemetery with Military honors.

Memorials may be made in his name to either All Saints Episcopal Church or Journey Home Animal Care Center (Rifle Animal Shelter)

Services have been entrusted to Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services.
