Ronald Pethick

May 8, 1936 — December 4, 2021

Ronald “Red” William Pethick passed away in the home he shared with his late wife, Lorraine, on December 4, 2021. Red was born in Iowa, where he was raised on a family farm and eventually met his wife Lorraine. They were married on September 7, 1957, in Mason City, IA. They shared over 57 joyful and loving years together and had four children and eight grandchildren. They moved from Keokuk, Iowa to St. Paul, Minnesota before relocating to Tampa, Florida for 10 years. They eventually made their way out to Colorado and lived in Pueblo, CO for 20 years before moving to Grand Junction in 2005.

Red will forever be remembered for his kind and gentle heart, his willingness to drop anything to support family and friends, and his quick wit. He was often found tinkering around in his workshop, tending to his yard and garden, or playing cards with his family. Red cared deeply about his faith and was unselfish with his time at his church. From helping with odds and ends around the community to visiting those who were ill at nursing homes or rehabilitation centers, he had a heart of gold that he generously shared with those around him.

Red is survived by his four children, Kathleen Pethick of Tampa, FL., Kristine Sebring and her husband Christopher of Sebring, FL., Eileen Arja and her husband Tarek of Grand Junction, CO.,, and Steven Pethick and his wife Laura of Broomfield, CO.; his eight grandchildren: Lindsey Sebring, Sara Sebring, Aaron Pethick, Jillian Leon (Manuel Leon), Nicky Arja, Ben Arja, Amber Pethick, and Janelle Pethick; and his sister Barb Katrana and her husband John. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine (2014) and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on December 18, 2021, at 10:00 am at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 599 30 Rd. Grand Junction, CO. We would love to honor Ron's memory and his strong belief in mission work and community service with a food drive.  For all that are able and willing, please bring a canned food item and support the church's annual food drive in which Ron was a faithful supporter.   All food collected will be brought to the Clifton Christain Church Food Bank.

The family politely requests for anyone planning to attend the service to please wear a mask.
