Naomi Alvey

August 22, 1942 — April 13, 2021

Naomi Carol Alvey (Carol), 78, of Grand Junction, Co, went home to be with her Lord, and Saviour, on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, following a recent illness.

Born on August 22, 1942, she was the daughter of Orgel B. and Naomi M. Armstrong, and the sister of Brandon Armstrong and Dessie Sue Martino. She was the mother of Theodore "Teddy" Swing, Tracy Swing, Lavonda Wigfield, Ronda Swing, Kristy Alvey-Goure, and Kevin (Sheila) Alvey. She was the Grandmother of Donald "Dew" Wigfield, Chase Alvey, Dimitri Alvey, Destinee Alvey, and Naomi Alvey, and Adopted Great-Grandmother of Alice Bettner.

Carol worked for several years as a housekeeper at various different hotels, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities, including E. Dene Moore Nursing home and Crossroads Assisted Living in Rifle, CO, until she retired in 2010. In 2014, she moved to  Grand Junction with her son, Kevin, and his family to  be closer to  her dialysis treatments. During her time in Grand Junction, she came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour, and became a member of Gospel Way Baptist Church, where she was loved by all, and became affectionately known as "Granny Carol". Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle, and ultimately gave her peace.
