Mary Ann (Metz) Metzgar passed away peacefully on Oct 2nd 2021 at the Hope West Hospice House in Grand Junction, Colorado.
She went to be with her Lord at 68 years old.
She is survived by her adoring wife Candace and her brother Carl "Penny" Metzgar and his family. Lovingly remembered by her second family the "Warchola" family especially Timmy who was a son to her. Will always be remembered and loved by all her friends in West Virginia and Colorado; actually anyone whoever met her. Metz was one of the most loving, kind, giving and compassionate people ever. She had an infectious childlike laugh which drew strangers and friends to her. Many times and when necessary in any given situation she would be a mentor, friend, mom, sister, aunt or protector giving comfort when necessary. She never hesitated to step up when needed.
Her deeply felt passions include:
Rescuing and providing a safe warm home for animals of all kinds but especially dogs.
Assisting the elderly, ill or weak.
Participating or watching any kind of sports competition, she liked to win!
Protecting anyone from harm.
Loved her steaks, but never ate anything green.
Metz honorably served her country from 1976 to 1979. A military memorial will be held at the Fort Indiantown Gap Army base in Annville, PA 17003 on Oct 19th at 12:30pm.
