Margaret Batiste

October 18, 1937 — September 6, 2018

Margaret “Maggie” Batiste, 80, passed away peacefully on September 6th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Margaret was born in Oakland, California to the late Harry and Naomia Leedom. She is preceded in death by her three sisters, Charlotte, Carolyn, and JoAnn.

Margaret married the love of her life, William Batiste, in Sacramento, CA in 1959.  They enjoyed 59 years of marriage and raised four wonderful daughters, Kathy, Deborah, Janet, and Susan.  Margaret was a loving mother who always put her family first.

She began her college studies at California State University, Sacramento, and completed her BA in English Literature at Mesa College.

In her work at First American Title Company, Maggie was known as a problem-solver and her expertise was highly sought out.  She ran a Title plant that served eight counties and retired as a company Vice President.

Her passions included sewing, baking, and reading.  She always enjoyed a mystery novel and passed her love of literature and art down to her children.

A Celebration of Life is being planned.
