Judy Stevens

July 31, 1959 — June 14, 2021

Judy Lynn Stevens -     July 31, 1959 – June 14, 2021
Judy passed away at her home in Grand Junction, CO after a long

battle of multiple illnesses. She was born in Denver, Colorado to

John Rudolph Larkins and Charlotte Mae Grace. She was the youngest

of 8 children and was referred to as the baby of the bunch.  She lived

the majority of her life in Grand Junction with a few years as a child

in Washington. She met and married Rodney Stevens in her 20's and

together they had 2 children, Rodney & Chrystal. She moved her

young family back to Washington in the early 80's for a few years

then returned to live the rest of her life in the Grand Valley. She was

first and foremost a mother and a homemaker but had random jobs

here and there, picking fruit from the orchards, light secretarial work,

and selling Avon. She raised many kids over the years that weren't her

own, she was the local neighborhood mom, one whom everyone could

look up to and trust. She was easy to startle but quick to retaliate.

Her favorite past time was spending time with her kids and grandkids.

A simple visit or a call would brighten her day! She loved to get out and

about, camping, driving, and sightseeing. She had a hankering for

yard sales, she couldn't pass one up. She was a collector of everything,

but pigs were her favorite! And she couldn't miss a single episode of

Wheel Of Fortune or Jeopardy, don't bother calling during it, you

wouldn't be answered. She collected rocks, why? No one knows,

but she has HUNDREDS of them! She had faithful friends and lifelong

companions over the years and would never tire of telling you stories

of the past, even when you've heard them 100 times! Every trip through

town was a story of where she lived, where she rode her horse, or where

her sisters tormented her. She would give you the shirt of her back, even

if it meant she went without, she always made sure everyone was taken

care of, this was her mothering nature. She would argue with you until

blue in the face, then hug you and say she loved you before you left or

hung up the phone. She was a spitfire and an angel, fire to gasoline,

and water to roses. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.

She is survived by a son, Rodney (Amanda) Stevens of Fruita, CO,

4 grandchildren, Angelica (Cody), Shannon, Bryce and Aidan,

and a new great grandson Colton. Sisters Pat Nation of Grand Junction,

and Cecilia Gallegos (Ed) of Denver, Co. And many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Charlotte Larkins,

life partner Ronald Ridgeway, Daughter Chrystal Stevens (Breckenridge),

Sisters Velma, Jesse, Gladys, Berta, and brother Jim.
