Jerrie Swiatoviak

January 25, 1943 — February 11, 2023

Jerrie Anne Swiatoviak died peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2023.  She was 80 years old.  Jerrie was a Colorado native, the daughter of Lillian and William McAtee.  She attended Arvada High School.

She spent much of her childhood playing with her cousins at her grandmother and uncle’s house in Lakewood, Colorado, where summers allowed for croquet, helping with the chickens, feeding the goldfish in the outdoor pond, and enjoying the melodies of the player piano!

Jerrie worked in the communications industry for Mountain Bell as a technical manager, where she met her beloved husband, Jack.  They both retired from the organization and spent their time between Arizona and Colorado for a few years before moving to Kaua’i, Hawai’i, where they could often be found lounging in their beach chairs under an umbrella with their dog Kalvin listening to the soft waves tumbling on the shore.  This is where they were happiest!

Jerrie enjoyed watching old movies, was a BIG Steve McQueen fan, and when previously able, knitted.  She also had a wonderful eye for interior design and applied this to their many homes over the years. She was an exceptional artist and was able to create beauty from a variety of mediums: acrylic paint, pencil, pastels, and charcoal to name a few.

Her strongest value was her belief in her Higher Power. She had decades in recovery from alcohol addiction and provided experience, strength, and hope to those also working on their recovery. She was well respected by many in the twelve-step fellowship for her honesty.

Jerrie is preceded in death by her husband Jack H. Swiatoviak. She is survived by her two daughters: Kathleen Anne Rhody Gissing (husband David Gissing) and Kristine Marie Rhody and her two granddaughters, Emily and Madyson. She is also survived by her acquired three daughters, Kathryn, Nancy, and Susan, their combined seven children and seven great-grandchildren.

A private, intimate service will be held by her immediate family.  Please consider her memory when you see a beautiful sunset, as she enjoyed the colors of the sky during this time of day.

Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services.
