Gary Jensen, passed away on September 11, 2020, at the age of 75 years.

A long-term resident of Grand Junction, Gary was born October 4, 1944 in Torrance, California.

A carpenter and home builder, Gary was a passionate follower of Jesus who dedicated his time and resources to serving in his local church and supporting charitable causes. He also loved the outdoors, fly fishing, reading and talking about the Bible, and studying prophetic texts.

After 20+ years of building homes in the Grand Junction area, he relocated to Southern California and worked as a union carpenter. He retired and returned to Grand Junction. After his first wife, Sharon, of 40 years passed away, he was remarried to Clara, his wife of 13 years. He was a faithful husband, hardworking and loving father and step-father, as well as a generous member of his church and wider community.

Gary and Sharon served as children’s church ministers and volunteers for nearly 30 years at First Assembly of God in Grand Junction as well as Melodyland Christian center in Anaheim, California.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother Lois, his wife Clara, his sons Clark, Dru, and Barry, his brothers Mike and Denny, his sister Barbara, his step-children Joe and Emerald, and 9 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Victory Life Church, 2066 Highway 6 and 50, Fruita, CO. Reverend Bob Cook will officiate.
