Bill was born to George Lewis Haynie Sr and Frances Cain Haynie on July 17, 1943 in Greenwood Mississippi. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1963. He moved to Grand Junction, CO and attended Mesa State College. Bill married Sharon D Moore and they were later divorced. He then married Marcella Madrid Haynie and they shared 33 wonderful years together.
Bill spent 30 years working for the railroad. First with the Rio Grande and then the Southern Pacific and finally the Union Pacific. He served proudly as Local Chairman, President as well as Security Treasurer with the BROTHERHOOD OF MAINTENANCE AWAY Local 779
Bill and Marcy lived for their annual trip to Grenada Lake Mississippi every spring to fish and visit with the Mississippi family and friends. He often said we needed to come home to rest after our month long party, only to come home and host a fish-fry that included as many as 70 friends and family.
He loved camping and fishing as well as spending time outdoors with his family. Bill was a dedicated Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan.
Bill is survived by his wife Marcy of Clifton, CO. Sons Frank (Kim) Haynie and Robert (Janette) Haynie both of Grand Junction, CO. Shelly (Leo) Tinoco of Morrison, CO, Bobby (Tikinna) Green of E Carbon, UT and Aaron Madrid of Clifton, CO.
His brothers, George (Sissy) Haynie, Tommy (Jo) Haynie of Grenada, MS and sister Nancy Rebecca Carpenter of Grenada, MS. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, GL and Frances Haynie, stepson Jerry Green and Grandson Brandon Green.
Bill's family would like to thank all the doctor's, nurses and entire staff at HopeWest for all the extended care and guidance they provided during this time.
