Obituary

Wes was born in Fort Pierre, South Dakota to Wilfred Webber Sears and Carol Mae Sears. He grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, and attended Central High School and graduated from Palisade High School in 1981.

Wes married Joni Butterbaugh April 30, 1983 at Northeast Christian Church. In the early years, Wes was an electrical lineman for a local company. He later became the "cable guy" working for the cable television industry for 37 years. He transferred to Craig Office and retired from Spectrum in 2022.

Wes and Joni had two children, Jacob Luke and Megan DeAnn. He was a fun-loving dad who took the kids camping, fishing, and hunting. He was the master of knowing the hidey-holes for hunting and fishing.

He was the life of the party. He was always friendly, outgoing, and charming. He never met a stranger that didn't soon become a friend. His background barbeques were open to all (even the local cops on occasion!!)

Wes lived a very full life, and he was always willing to try new things-wrestling, baseball, softball, bowling, and boating.

He loved classic cars and fast motorcycles-but most of all he loved to be with his friends and family. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Survivors include his mother, Carol Sears, his wife, Joni, two children Jacob (Valarie) and Megan (Mike); three sisters Lori Vancil (Jay); Stacy Morgan (Chris), and Stephanie Pinnt (Shawn); four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held at Wrigley Field Sports Bar & Grill, 810 North Ave, September 25th starting at 1:30 pm. Another celebration will take place in Craig at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 632 26 1/2 Rd Grand Junction, CO 81506 or to HopeWest Care Center at 3092 N 12th St, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
