Virginia
Bosse
December 30, 1940 – February 27, 2025
Virginia (Ginni) D. Parish Bosse, age 85, of Grand Junction, CO passed away on February February 27, 2025. Ginni was born December 30, 1940 in Elmwood, NE to Donald and Jessie (Baggley) Parish, the last of five children. When Ginni was eight years of age her mother passed away from cancer. Ginni attended the Bryan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and received certification as a registered nurse. On May 27, 1962 she married Jon R. Bosse in Kearney, NE. Jon and Ginni moved to Montrose, CO where Jon taught at the high school and Ginni continued her career as a registered nurse. Their three children, Julia, Jon M and Mark were all raised in Montrose, CO. Jon retired from teaching in 1993 and he and Ginni moved to Placerville, CO. Ginni transitioned to working at the library in Telluride, and was one of the primary purchasers of books for the library for many years. Ginni was able to introduce her nearby grandchildren to literature, as well as the environment of Telluride, as they transitioned into adolescence. Ginni had the rare experience of showing a book about a “teenage wizard” to her oldest grandchild, who didn’t buy into the book–later Harry Potter would be one of the greatest selling books known to that generation. Ginni was passionate about her community, learning new skills, watching her grandchildren grow and supporting her husband and children as they grew in their own skills. Ginni was skillful in the art of stained glass creation, knitting and creating tasteful reading lists. Jon and Ginni moved from Placerville to Norwood in the 2000’s to be closer to their youngest son, Mark. Ginni was also able to retire at this time, and be present as a full time grandmother, wife and mother. Jon and Ginni moved to Grand Junction in 2014. And Ginni passed in Grand Junction in 2024. She is remembered by her children Julia, Jon, and Mark, as well as her grandchildren Lindsey, Jon Michael, Mallory, Amanda, and Jacob, and great grandchildren Vincent, Michelle, Ember, Lane, Dawson, Wade, Quinn, and Azalea. She will always be remembered as a woman that loved the family she made, and the community she kept.
