Virgil Sterry

Virgil Sterry, 76, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on 06/29/2026. Born on 06/27/1950 to Juanita and Rex Sterry in Rifle. Virgil Sterry lived a life marked by his dedication to his family, his love for classic cars, and the outdoors.

He graduated from Mesa State College and built a career in mechanics on the Railroad. Outside of work, Virgil loved working on his cars or driving to the mountains for the scenery especially going to the Uncompahgre to camp or hunt.

Virgil Sterry is survived by his 4 children Justin Sterry, Nathanael Sterry, Rachael Sterry, Rebecca Sterry along with his 7 grandchildren Dylon Sterry, Chad Sterry, Daymien Sterry, Mason Sterry, Emilia Sterry, Domanic Sterry, and Donavin Sterry, and his sister Ida Thomas.

A celebration of life will be held on August 8th, 2026, at Redlands Community Center from 12:30PM to 2:00PM.
