Uriah Shaffer

Uriah SHAFFER, age 39, drowned in a kayaking accident in the Crystal River near Carbondale, CO on May 31, 2014. His body was found July 26th. Born August 16, 1974 in Paonia, Colorado, he was the son of Timothy R. Shaffer and Linda Ann Ciasullo. He graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1993, and received a degree in Construction Management from Colorado Mesa University. Besides kayaking and his love for the outdoors, he enjoyed singing, songwriting, dancing and skiing. Uriah is survived by his mother, Linda Ann Ciasullo, of Delta, father and step-mother, Timothy R. and Ruth Shaffer, of Cedar Edge, Colorado, two sisters, Leah (Levy) Garcia, of Delta and Carrie (Sara) Hintz, of Denver, a brother, Curtis (Sundee)Hintz, of Hotchkiss, CO a step-sister, Sarah Hepworth, of Grand Junction and a step-brother, William Hepworth of Mesa, CO Private services are planned.
