Tugomir Vojislav Vidanovic
(nicknames: Tugi, Bob, Dan

August 1, 1937 – July 10, 2017

Tugomir Vojislav Vidanovic, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died July 10, 2017, due to the degenerative impact of Multiple System Atrophy.
Born August 1, 1937, in Krupac, Serbia, he was the son of the late Vojislav and Milovanka Vidanovic. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Rebecca (nee Irwin); daughter, the pride-of-his-life, Andjela Drincic; her fiancée, Stevan Knezevic, her mother, Bozica Vidanovic; granddaughter, Irena Drincic; grandson, Stefan Drincic; and many nieces and nephews.
Tugi graduated from Beograd University of Music in Beograd, Serbia with a Masters in Music Composition and Music Theory. He also served in the Serbian Army.
Music was Tugi’s passion. He has left a rich legacy of hundreds of songs he composed and recorded with top vocalists of the day, many of which are posted on YouTube. He won first place for his compositions in numerous European music festivals and hosted a daily, live orchestral performance on Radio TV Beograd. Tugi is a well-know, much-loved native son of Serbia.
With a life-long love for the United States, Tugi immigrated in 1988 and obtained his U.S. citizenship on July 4th. He worked in various churches in the Minneapolis area as music minister, conducting choirs, organizing orchestras and teaching music lessons.
Tugi will be remembered for his loving nature, sparkling blue eyes and subtle sense of humor. He was an energetic, hard-working man and improved every home he lived in by remodeling and expanding the living and working space.  After he retired from teaching and conducting, he often said he, “conducted with hammer and nails.”
In January, 2014, Tugi was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). Failure to respond to the medications, he was tested at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale last year and found he had Multiple System Atrophy (MSA-P), a rare, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder. While he exhibited symptoms of PD, there is no cure or available medications to slow the progression of MSA. On June 28, 2017, he suffered an acute gallbladder attack. In his weakened condition, the antibiotics could not conquer the infection which invaded his system. He was transferred to the Hope West Hospice Care Center where they kept him comfortable and pain-free until he stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 10 at 3:22 a.m.
A memorial service will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, date to be determined.
