Thomas Keith Carpendale

Thomas Keith Carpendale "Tom", passed away at his home January 3, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.  Tom was born August 14. 1958, in Grand Junction to Robert Carpendale and Mary Ann Wright 

Tom's greatest joy in life was his grandson Ben, whom he helped raise. 

He was a master woodworker and loved old trains.

Tom's life is a lasting example of fresh starts and picking yourself up after heart break, through hard work and faith.  Tom celebrated 26 years of sobriety last year and the love and support he enjoyed from the recovery community made them closer than family. He guided an untold number of people in the Grand Junction area through their recovery journey and that will remain one of his greatest legacies,

Tom's own journey through recovery blessed him with a strong faith and a lasting relationship with Jesus.

He was known for his sense of humor and his kind and generous heart. He worked hard but was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Tom was a loving son, father, and grandfather; a much beloved brother and favorite uncle. 

In addition to his grandson Ben, Tom is survived by his five children: Anthony Trower of Vernal, Utah; Lucy Trower of Vernal, Utah; Misty Trower Hill (Wallace) of Evanston, Wyoming; Buddy Carpendale (Beth) of Vernal, Utah, and Mary Ann Carpendale.  His six siblings: David Carpendale (Kari) of Grand Junction, CO; Kathy Myers, of Grand Junction, CO; Lee Anne Glass of Denver, CO; Jennifer Glass of Cedaredge, CO; Marcella Lafferty of Littleton, CO; and Robert Lafferty (Dorothy) of Lakewood, CO. His father Robert Carpendale (Linda) of Grand Junction, CO 

Tom had twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

Tom was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann Wright 

We are all humbled and grateful to have known him, and he was taken from us much too soon.
