Theresa Kay Murfin, age 59 died on the 23rd day of August 2022 following a sudden illness. Born January 14th, 1963, in Grand Junction, Colorado, she was the eldest daughter of Glenn and Twila Locke of Grand Junction, Colorado. Theresa grew up in Grand Junction and graduated from Central High School in 1981.
After the birth of her daughters, Theresa spent many years doing at home daycare and volunteering with the Colorado National Guard Family Support Program. In the second half of her life, Theresa worked for the Girl Scouts and most recently was employed as a clerk with the United States Postal Service for 8 years. She enjoyed camping, road tripping, going to rodeos and concerts, decorating her new house, and spending time with her growing family.
Theresa was the warm, friendly type that touched everyone she worked with whether as a coworker or customer and kept in contact with people from long ago. She was hardworking and dedicated to her family and friends; she liked to work hard and play hard, when she gave herself the time to.
Theresa was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Susan Marie Kline and is survived by her parents, Glenn and Twila Locke; sister, Shelia Gaither; her Husband, Jack Murfin; her two daughters, Lisa Kline and Christa Medina; Son-in-law, Jose Medina; and three grandchildren, Michael Medina, Fernando Medina, and Esperanza Medina.
A Celebration of Theresa Murfin’s Life will be held on the 11th of September 2022 at 4:00pm at Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services located at 904 N 7th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
