Offering a moment for community remembrance and support.
Teddy R. Monger, 78, whose life touched many lives in Delta and beyond, passed away peacefully at his home on May 24, 2026.
Ted was born in Palisade, Colorado, and grew up in Ramona, California, and Crawford, Colorado. He met the love of his life, Vicki, in Southern California. After spending several years there together, Ted moved his wife and children to Garfield County in Colorado, where he built strong roots in the community and among the people he loved, actively participating in local events and initiatives.
Ted proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long career as a coal miner and later as a truck driver. Known for his kindness and willingness to help others, he was always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word with everyone he met.
In his younger years, he also loved to surf and enjoyed the freedom and peace he found on the water. Ted loved the outdoors and treasured the time he spent kayaking down the river with his children. He and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling together, creating treasured memories wherever they went. More than anything, Ted loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. They brought him endless joy, and he cherished every moment shared with them. Whether telling stories, making people laugh, or simply being together, his family was the center of his world.
Ted's warm personality, quick smile, and gift for conversation made everyone feel welcome, inspiring admiration and respect among those who knew him.
Above all else, Ted's unwavering faith and love for God guided his life, fostering a shared set of values and a spiritual connection with the community.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Monger; his son, Terry Monger and wife Sarah; his daughter, Toni Monger and husband Aaron Parada; his cherished grandchildren, Bailey, Dacey, Kelsey, Isaac, and Trinady; and his great-granddaughter, Gracelynn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alva Dean Monger; his mother, Mary Ellen Gingrich Monger; his brother, Gary Monger; and his daughter, Teresa Monger.
Ted will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
