Taylor Morgan Swank, age 40, died April 12, 2025. Born November 5, 1984 in Greeley, CO, he was the son of Karen R. Swank-Crosby, Grand Junction, CO.
Taylor attended Estes Park High School, Colorado Mesa University and Front Range Community College. Taylor was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as Private First Class during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Cavalry Scout. He was very dedicated to the service of his country.
Taylor lived most of his life in Colorado. He held multiple positions of employment throughout his life, including Animal Shelter Caretaker, which he enjoyed the most. He was very dedicated, hardworking, helping others and determined to do a good job with any and all tasks.
I began taking Taylor out into the wilderness, mostly Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), as early as 6 months old. We continued our adventures learning about the vegetation, wildlife, geology and the ecosystem that connected it all. He enjoyed hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, snowboarding and more, especially when accompanied by his beloved dog and faithful companion, Argos. They lived in the wilderness in various parts of Colorado on multiple occasions. One of the highlights of his time in the wilderness was a 1996 safari in South Africa with his Grandparents and Aunt Kris. Living in a tourist town, we all had to work tirelessly through the summers. Taylor would arrive at his Grandparents restaurant, "Penelope's Old-Fashioned Burger Emporium," following his time at Day Camp and asked if he could help out (not wanting to sit around with nothing to do). Grandpa obliged him and Taylor cleared tables, wiped them down, talked to our guests and made sure that they had everything that they needed. Even at 5 years old he had a great work ethic.
His hobbies included video gaming, independently studying philosophy, playing guitar and ukulele, and a collector of many areas in his life. Music played a large part of his life, as he enjoyed singing, as well. He attended a Barbershop Chorus Camp with his Grandfather, Gerry, during his mid-teen years. They had a wonderful time, as they usually did, when spending so much time together.
Taylor was preceded in death by Gerald W. Swank, Jr., Grandfather, and Rebecca E. Swank, Grandmother.
Taylor is survived by Karen R. Swank, Mother, (Rick Crosby); Katherine E. Swank, Aunt, (Jean-Luc Voegele); Kristine A. Swank, Aunt, (Milo Mazanec), as well as, many distant relatives.
Whenever possible, Taylor was very generous and helpful to others, including many strangers. We will miss his free spirit and always keep our memories of him close to our hearts.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will take place at later date(s) in two different locations. Notification to be made at that time.
I will think of you every day, will honor my memories of you and will luv you, with all my heart, forever! See you again, someday, on the other side.
