Tami Laurette Brueggeman

October 25, 1977 — January 9, 2026

Tami Laurette Brueggeman, 48, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. She was born on October 25, 1977, in Burbank, California, and was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose joyful spirit touched countless lives.

Tami was the cherished daughter of Carol and Walter Brueggeman of Grand Junction, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Brueggeman. She is survived by her loving parents; her sister, Heidi Brueggeman; her nieces, Cyntha Giles and Katie Benson; and her great-niece, Aylah, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Tami graduated from Tehachapi High School in California and later completed an independent living program at Taft College. Born with Down syndrome, Tami never allowed it to define or limit her. She embraced life fully, participating in a wide range of sports, competing through Special Olympics throughout her life, and locally as part of the Ariel program. Whether she was bowling, dancing, or enjoying a spirited game of Uno, Tami brought energy, laughter, and joy wherever she went—often becoming the life of the party.

A dedicated volunteer, Tami generously gave her time to her community. She proudly volunteered at the Orchard Mesa Branch Library for ten years and served in the cafeteria at Clifton Elementary for more than three years. Her commitment, kindness, and reliability left a lasting impression on those she worked alongside.

Tami had an infectious laugh, rosy cheeks, and a heart full of love. She adored animals, had a passion for learning, and treasured her movie dates with her boyfriend, Eric. Above all, she loved people—and people loved her right back. Tami’s warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine kindness created lasting memories for all who knew her.

A celebration of Tami’s life will be held at a later date. Her legacy of joy, service, and unconditional love will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
