Steven Lee Smith passed away peacefully at his residence in Grand Junction, Colorado on January 9th, 2024, at the age of 65.

Steven is survived by his Mother Rita Baughman, his brothers, Mike Harvey, (Maggie Harvey), Dave Sasser and sister, Jacqueline Harvey, (Chris Carmack)

Steven was born in Grand Junction and married twice but was single at his time of departure. Nicoletta Moschetti was his longtime friend and confidant.

Steven's heartfelt pastime was horses, he was on the horse racing circuit for 18 years. Even though he broke his back three different times, he continued to race until he retired. Steven was a legend in his own time and won numerous races from California to the Mississippi River. He ran with the best jockeys in his time and was respected by all.  Steven was, what you might say, "a horse whisperer" as he could tell anyone what was wrong or right about a horse. He trained and broke horses all during his career.

Steven retired from the horse racing business and had a successful produce business for the East and West Slope of Colorado. He continued this business for 8 years until he retired.

His favorite pastime was fishing and hunting on the Grand Mesa and the Uncompahgre. Steven will be missed by family and friends.
