Stella Dean Forney

Stella Forney was born April 1, 1935 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to George C, & Laura Bell Mckinney Diller. She passed away peacefully June 10, 2025 at Hope West in Grand Junction.

Stella went to and graduated from Central high school in 1954 her senior year (after coming from Texas), she was voted best personality at Central. Stella met Gene Forney at church. They were married on March 23, 1956 at First Assembly of God church in Grand Junction for 59 years.

Stella was a housewife and mother of 4 children and providing loving care of 16 foster children which were mostly babies in the 1960’s. Stella worked many jobs from school bus driver, Avon to Mary Kay cosmetics. Her real passion was flower arrangements and decorating. She worked for Jenkins floral, Johnsons House of Flowers and was a wedding planner for First Assembly of God church.

Stella was a member at First Assembly of God in Grand Junction, Colorado and also attended Jubilee Church in Clifton, Colorado. Stella loved going to Camp Cedaredge for Family camp, Revivals, bible studies, Gaither Ministries and maybe some QVC shopping. Stella especially loved spending time with her friends Gay Williams, Lenore Pahlke and so many others

Stella is survived by her four children Kathryn Forney of Grand Junction, Keith & Deanna Forney of Clifton, Terry & Cindy Forney of Corvallis OR, Daren & Shelly Forney of Fort Collins CO. Twelve grandchildren Savannah & Tony, Chad & Maggie, Ryan, Khloe, Brandon, Loren, Jackie, Maddox, Jonathan, Jessica and Valerie, four great grandchildren Braedan, Stella, Henry and Raelynn. Immediate family Ed & Esther Diller of Ohio, Carol Diller of OR, Niece’s Annette, Adrienne, Sarah, Amy & Emily.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband Gene Forney, parents George C. & Laura Bell McKinney Diller, bother Wilbur Diller, grandchildren Shasta Scholebo and Erica Forney.

Stella will be remembered for her Love of all and of course her laughter!

Services will be held: Monday June 30th, 2025 at 10 am. Jubilee Family Church 483 30 RD Grand Junction Co 81504
