Samuella Dingley Emrich,90, died May 21st, 2024, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Sammy was born August 1st 1933 in Indianapolis Indiana. She was the youngest daughter of Bert and Julia Dingley.
Sammy graduated from St Mary’s of the Woods college. She began her career with Eli Lily and spent her life in the medical device field. At a time when women couldn’t climb the corporate ladder, she found a way to break through the glass ceiling, over and over again throughout her long career.
She was a strong, independent, hardworking woman. She instilled those values in all who knew her. Sammy enjoyed a good book and a glass of lemonade on her porch. Sometimes it was a glass of wine.
Sammy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl and daughter Julie.
Sammy is survived by her daughters, Cindy Emrich(Don) Lisa Nieslanik and Jennifer Emrich. Sons Andy Emrich(Patti) and Dan Emrich(Laura) Stepchildren, Mary,David,and Lori.
She was fortunate enough to have 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and best friend Jody.
We will miss our mom and hold fond memories of her in our hearts. We will forever see that raised eyebrow and know she is watching over us.
Memorial services will be Wednesday May 29th. Viewing at Browns Funeral Home at 11am followed by a graveside service at 1 pm at Veterans memorial Cemetery.
