Ronald Glenn Taylor, 83, of Grand Junction, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Community Hospital, with his daughter by his side. Born in Grand Junction on March 25, 1942, Ron spent most of his life in Plateau Valley where he grew up working with his father, Glenn Taylor, at Valley View Jerseys, a dairy farm outside of Molina that supplied milk to Clymer’s Dairy Products in Grand Junction. Ron was dedicated to the family-owned operation, fascinated by the details, and he deeply cared for the animals, each one being more than just a number, with its own name.
Growing up, he was a proud member of 4H for more than a decade, showing and winning many awards at both the county and state fairs. Graduating from Plateau Valley High School in 1960, Ron went on to succeed in many positions throughout his lifetime, however, the farm was always his first love.
A dedicated family man, Ronald was a gifted storyteller who never knew a stranger, believed deeply in tradition, and would do anything for those he loved. Ron dearly loved his daughter, Chareen (Dan) Gienapp, Fruita, his sister, Dorothy, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Marie Taylor, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as a nephew, Mark Shiery.
Services for Ron will be held Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2542 G Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, followed by interment at Mesa Cemetery, 50050 KE Road, Mesa Colorado.
