Ronald Earl Boyce

Ron Boyce, 78, died too soon on November 10, 2025, surrounded by his wife Judy and daughter Shelly. Born on December 4, 1946, Ron lived a vibrant and active life marked by dedication to his family, career, and passions.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Iowa, and attended Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa.

His career was in the chemical industry, serving as a supervisor for Arco Chemical, Chevron, and SF Phosphate until his retirement. Known for his strong work ethic and leadership skills, he touched many lives during his years of employment.

A lifelong enthusiast of outdoor activities, Ron was an avid golfer, pickleball player, bicyclist, downhill skier, boater, fisherman, camper, and bowler. He treasured poker nights with his buddies and cherished his role as a family man. Active in both body and mind, Ron had a keen interest in reading and watching financial markets.

Ron had a unique gift for friendship—everyone he met quickly became a friend. Always willing to lend a hand, he was a good friend and neighbor.

He married Karin Harper Goosey, with whom he had his beloved daughter Shelly. They later divorced. He met Judy Eddy Sanford while playing on a coed company softball team. They married and enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. From this relationship, he gained a bonus son, Brian Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley “Bud” Boyce; mother, Leota Ridgeway Boyce; bonus son Brian Sanford; and dog Sammy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Boyce; daughter Shelly (Dan) Coyne of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Olivia Anne and Charles Jackson Coyne; brothers Jerry Boyce of Camdenton, MO, and Merle Boyce of Camdenton, MO; daughter-in-law Lois Sanford of Rock Springs, WY; bonus grandchildren Ruby and Penelope Sanford; and his cherished dog, Mikey, of Fruita, CO.

Ron’s spirit will be remembered by all who knew him as energetic, kind, devoted, and always ready to offer friendship and support. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.

Ron was airlifted to St. Mary’s Intermountain Hospital from another medical facility. His wife and daughter would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at St. Mary’s. Their extraordinary dedication, kindness, and respect were a great comfort during a most difficult time.
