Rodney “Bubba” Demetrio Madrid, age 55, was called home on August 13, 2025.
He was born on September 28, 1969, in Alamosa, Colorado. He was the son of Demetrio and Patricia Madrid.
Rod graduated from Alamosa High School in 1988 and also graduated from the Arizona Auto Institute in Phoenix Arizona. He was a man of many talents, but enjoyed his work as a mechanic, and welder the most.
Rod enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, cooking, and his adventurous spirit took him to many coastal cities where he never met a stranger.
He lived a life full of heart for a lot of people but most especially those in need. He often took the responsibility of helping the elderly in his own quiet ways.
Rod is survived by his parents, Demetrio and Patricia Madrid, Alamosa. Sister Bernadette (Ray) Torres, Monte Vista. Nieces and nephews, Briana (Jaime) Villagomez, Monte Vista, Stephanie (Adam) Klecker, Monte Vista and Matthew (Savannah) Torres, Monte Vista. Twelve great nieces and nephews, Zaiden, Liliana, Luke and Emilia Villagomez, Mason and Jaxon Klecker and Oliver, Levi, Norah, Margolena, Penelope and Kintynn Torres. He also leaves behind many family and friends who were special to him.
A Mass of the resurrection will be held at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa at 10 am, Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Interment to follow at the Alamosa Cemetery.
