Robert Christopher Martell

Robert (Bob) Martell of New Castle CO & former Neenah WI resident, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday March 10 2026. Bob was a sweet, loving, compassionate and generous person. He had a larger than life personality, loved to tell stories, share his dreams, and could always be counted on for a laugh. He was a great friend, and he loved his family very much. Bob graduated from Neenah High School, class of 1974. He played football & wrestled in high school. He went to college at UW Stout for 3 years, and then worked construction as a carpenter. He eventually went to Colorado for work and fell in love with the beauty of the state. In recent years, he drove taxi for High Mountain Cab in Aspen, and enjoyed that very much. He got to meet and talk to people from all over the world when they came to Aspen. When we visited him in Colorado, he was always the best host. He loved showing us the beauty of his state and the different places he lived and loved to visit: Steamboat Springs, Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Maroon Bells, Independence Pass, and Leadville. We were fortunate to share all of that with him. He loved sports & watching football. He was a Green Bay Packers fan first and foremost, but also enjoyed watching the Broncos play. He enjoyed listening to classic rock music, and loved watching classic TV shows like Law and Order, Gunsmoke, and game shows. He always looked forward to coming back home to WI & getting together with his family. He was always up for socializing and having a good time. No matter what we did, being there with him always made it special. Although he didn't have a church home, he loved the Lord and had a deep faith. Bob is survived by his daughter Rachel (Curt) Fisher and grandchildren Beck & Claire. Brothers: Phil Martell & John Martell. Sisters: Mary (Doug) Martell-Peart, Liz (Randy) Lepak, Anne Martell & Sue (Jon) Drews. He was a favorite uncle to Jason and Erick Hedtke, Jason Martell and Derek Stumpf, Lauren and Ethan Drews, and Emmie Peterson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents John & Florence Martell, his brothers Mike Martell & Jim Martell and a sister in law Carol Scruton-Martell. He was also preceded in death by his beloved fiancee Lynette Anderson. Bob will be missed by all who knew & loved him. A celebration of his life is being planned, and details will be updated as they become available.
