Richard Swingle

July 4, 1950 — January 1, 2023

Richard Allen Swingle, 72, died after a brief, brave battle with a devastating illness. Richard was a friend and advisor to many. He was well known in Grand Junction for his interest in City government, his commitment to reporting street light outages, his daily trip to B&N for the New York Times and his 12 years of daily workouts at Mesa Fitness.

Richard is survived by his wife Samantha, step-daughters Heidi Davidson (Jeremy) and Mandi Moe, brothers David Swingle and Roger Swingle and several nieces and nephews. Three grandchildren, Logan, Keaton and Kelsey benefitted greatly from Richard teaching them to build things, and Rule 1- safety, Rule 2- put everything back where it belongs.

He leaves a huge (but well-organized) hole in our lives.
