Richard (Rick) Lynn Lopez 8-28-1957 to 3-22-2026, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Lopez age 68. Born In Cortez, CO in 1957; Rick attended and graduated from Cristobal High School class of 1975 in what was once known as The Panama Canal Zone. Rick will be remembered for being a jack of all trades type during his lifetime he did just about everything from working in the mines, to being a handyman doing just about everything. He also spent over a decade building homes and businesses. He also spent many of those same years being one of the best stagehands at the Grand Valley’s Country Jam Concerts. Rick had many hobbies and interests throughout his time on this planet. He enjoyed everything from riding motorcycles and chasing girls in his younger days, to gardening vegetables and flowers in his later years. Rick enjoyed going on fishing and camping trips, and he was able to take many throughout his life. Rick also loved music and was very rarely found without a guitar in his hand or playing some blues or country somewhere in the background. Rick loved watching his Sunday football games, especially the Denver Broncos. He was even able to attend some games in person. Rick was outgoing, friendly, and a master of Dad jokes and playing darts. He was extremely hardworking, and he would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Rick loved his kids, and grandkids who will miss him very much. Rick is survived by his daughters; Lisa Lopez and Cheri (Darrell) Taylor, his 2 grandchildren Colton and Max, and his sister Tina (Tracy) Lopez. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Senovia and Don Lopez. Rick died at his home in Grand Junction, CO Sunday March 22, 2026. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be given to friends and family once arrangements have been made.
