Richard Hahn

November 17, 1943 — March 29, 2022

Richard Hahn age 78 died March 29, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Richard was born November 17, 1943 to Arthur and Pearl Hahn in Spencer Idaho.  He was raised on a working ranch in eastern Idaho and eventually grew up in Rexburg Idaho.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served as a PFC E-3 for the Signal Core in Germany.  He was stationed there when the Berlin Wall went up and was amazed that he saw it come down.

After the Army he came home and married Reva Martin.  They had five children together; Ricky, Patty, Cathy, Ron and Julie.  They later divorced.

Rick was a self-made man starting out as a propane delivery driver to become vice president of several propane companies.  While working for one of these companies he met the love of his life, Connie and with her and her two children Jason and Darcy, formed a family with Ron and Julie.  During their adventures they lived in Seattle, Denver, Omaha and eventually moved to Grand Junction in 1996.  At this point, he made a promise to Connie that there would be no more chasing propane, as he said, and this has become their home.  He ended his career as the office manager and bidder for Coppersmith Plumbing.

Rick loved to fish and garden but the passion he and Connie shared was their Goldwing Motorcycle which took them to 36 states and over 100,000 miles.  Family and working toward your goals were very much part of his character.  His love of God was everything to him and is what sustained him during these last months.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Cathy and granddaughter Brandi.

He is survived by his wife Connie, children Rick Hahn, Patty (Derek) Curtis, Ron (Chrystal) Hahn, Julie (Jeff) Nelson, Jason (Rachel) Ahrens, Darcy (Mike) Luteyn, 6 brothers and sisters, 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on April 5, 2022 at Browns Chapel located at 904 North 7th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado.
