Rhoda Jean Jenco

Rhoda Jean Jenco, 86 passed away peacefully on Sunday June 01, 2025, at Mantey Heights, Grand Junction, Colorado. She was a resident of Palisade, Colorado.

Rhoda was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, James Edward, whom she married on December 05, 1955. A mother blessed with 4 children, Cassie, James, Robin and Jeff.

Many of Rhoda’s childhood were spent growing up in Moab, Utah at her parent’s cabin on the La Sal Mountain while her father Clarence (Effie) Hotz worked for John Brown sawmill. She enjoyed nature and all the little animals and even had a pet, Bambi.

She was a homemaker first and foremost, most of her career was spent providing daycare for the little ones and later becoming a medical transcriptionist.

Rhoda had many talents, painting, crocheting, cross stitching, knitting and was an accomplished seamstress. She found joy in music and movies as well as spending time with family and friends. She spent many years gold dredging with her husband James Edward, brother Leo (Peggy) Hotz and sister Nelda (Steve) Jochim down on the Delores River.

Rhoda’s memory in the hearts of her family, friends and all those who were honored to have the privilege of knowing her, inspiring those around her with kindness, warmth and unwavering faith in Jesus, she was a true pioneer and will be dearly missed.

Rhoda is survived by her children, Cassie (Tom) Simpson, James (Susan) Jenco and Jeff Jenco, Grandchildren, Jamie, Jessie, Carrie, Charity, Aaron, Danielle, Eddie, Kristy and two great grandchildren, Ruth & Mathew.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Edward, Victor (stillborn son), Robin (daughter), and Lucas (grandson).
