Ralph Caldwell

September 22, 1938 — December 27, 2014

Ralph Norman Caldwell, age 76 of Fruita, Colorado died December 27, 2014 at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO. Born September 22, 1938 in Vernal, Utah, he was the son of the late Virgil Paul and Dorothy Pearl Schaefermeyer Caldwell. He married Marilyn Kay Noble and together they raised three children. Ralph had been employed as truck driver for the oil fields and most recently had been a work camper. Camping was one of Ralph's passions as he loved the mountains and being in wilderness areas. He liked wild life of all kinds and had a special fondness for moose. Ralph was a hard worker and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with all his family and friends. Whether they were young or old, near or far, each one was special to him. He will be remembered for his easy going personality, warm smile and genuine interest in people. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, two daughters, Becky (Todd) Carlile, of Fruita, and Cindy (Dallas) Godfrey, of Grand Junction, a son, Darren Caldwell, Grand Junction, four brothers, Floyd Caldwell, Litchfield, AZ, Dave Caldwell, Gilmer, TX, Gene Caldwell, Hurricane, UT, Eric Harrison, San Diego, CA, three sisters, Arlene Powell, Price, UT, Marjorie Kogaines, Provo, UT, and Barbara Knight of Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Jacobson. Friends are invited to a visitation and funeral services at Victory Life Church, 2066 Hwy 6 & 50 in Fruita, CO on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 o'clock. Pastor Josh Cook will officiate the services. A luncheon at the church for family and friends will follow.  Inurnment will be in Rockport Cemetery, Vernal, Utah at a later date.
