Olive Suzan Winters

July 1, 1946 — July 7, 2025

Olive Susan Winters, affectionately known as Sue or Susan to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025 at the Larchwood Inns nursing home in Fruita, Colorado, at the age of 79.

Born on July 1, 1946, in Boulder, Colorado, to Myrtle and Glen Stout, Sue grew up to become a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She cherished her family and always prioritized their needs above her own. Her love for her grandchildren was especially evident, as she eagerly anticipated every opportunity to spend time with them.

Sue's life was marked by her dedication to her family. She married her husband, David, in 1966, and together they built a beautiful life and raised their children, Jake (Naomi), Wiley (Miwako), and Kim (Joe). Sue's selflessness and generosity inspired her family, and she will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

In addition to her husband and children, Sue is survived by her grandchildren, Anna, Kalina, DJ, and Jon, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Rhea and Olive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brother.

Sue's hobbies and interests brought her immense joy. She was an avid gardener, embroiderer, and craftswoman. Her culinary skills were renowned, and she took great pleasure in sharing her recipes with her family and friends. In fact, she authored a family cookbook, which has become a treasured keepsake for her loved ones.

As per Sue's request, there will be no memorial service. However, she will be laid to rest at the Grand Junction Veteran's Cemetery on August 1, 2025. Her family and friends will remember her kindness, generosity, and love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
