Obituary

Nora Jean (Jeannie) Meredith, affectionately known to all who loved her as "Honey," passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026 at the age of 83. Born on June 22, 1943 in Chicago, IL. Jeannie brought a warmth and sweetness into the world that perfectly matched the nickname later given to her by her grandchildren. Jeannie lived in San Francisco, CA as a child before moving to Glenwood Springs, CO where she spent her teen years. She called Glenwood Springs home with her daddy, Ken Landrum; mom, Emmie Pierce Landrum; sister, Marilyn K Landrum; and brother Marty H Landrum. After attending college in Grand Junction and studying Early Childhood Education, Jeannie started a family and made a home in Grand Junction with her then husband William (Bill) Aurelius and daughters Heather Jean and Elizabeth Ann. A dedicated educator for over 25 years, Jeannie spent her career shaping young minds in School District 51, Mesa County in Grand Junction, CO. Teaching was not simply a profession for Jeannie; it was a calling fueled by patience, encouragement, and an unwavering belief in every child's potential. Her classroom was a sanctuary filled with laughter, curiosity, and unconditional kindness, leaving an indelible mark on generations of students. True to her nickname, Honey possessed an irrepressibly bubbly and soft spirit. Her gentle nature, bright smile, and welcoming heart made everyone feel instantly at ease in her presence. Whether offering a comforting word or filling a room with her lighthearted laughter, she carried a grace that touched friends, colleagues, and neighbors everywhere she went. Jeannie also loved gardening, crafting, spending time with her friends & being surrounded by her family. She later married Terry F Meredith, who she would spend her years of retirement with. Honey is survived by her husband Terry Meredith; her daughters Heather (Tim) Young and Beth Scheer; her sister Marilyn Landrum; her brother Marty (Shiri) Landrum; her grandchildren Kelsie (Robby) McGuire, Aaron (Ashlynn) Young, Dawson (Allie) Scheer, Peytan Scheer; and her three great grandsons, Braxton, Corbin & Lucas, who she loved to refer to as the little boys. As well as a cherished circle of extended family, dear friends, and former students. She was preceded in death by her daddy, Ken Landrum and momma, Emmie Pierce Landrum. Her light, warmth, and enduring sweetness will remain in our hearts forever.
