It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Nicholas John Orros on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026.

Nick was a graduate of Delta High School and the University of Minnesota, Duluth, where he earned multiple degrees. He was quite successful for over 20 years in Real Estate and Development before returning to Delta ten years ago to assist his mother, Lucy Orros.

Known fondly as "Coach O," Nick was a dedicated volunteer coach for the Delta High School football team, as well as the Riverhawks and Caprock Academy hockey teams in Grand Junction. Just a week prior to his passing, he completed his book, Advanced Hockey Curriculum For Aspirational Players and Coaches, written to help young athletes. His quote on the book's jacket is, "Wish someone taught me this when I was playing."

Nick would describe himself as an introvert, but he was merely selective. If you made the "grade", you were in for a treat. He loved fiercely and he would have you laughing till your sides hurt. Nick was a God-fearing person who mostly wanted accountability and fairness. He was always fighting for what was right. If there's any comfort in his death, it's knowing he doesn't have to fight anymore. Rest in Peace Dear Nicholas.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his father, Jack Orros; his grandparents; his uncles, Donald Himsel and Steve Orros; and his aunts, Brenda Nelson and Mary Guertin. He is survived by his mother, Lucy Orros; his sister, Renee (Jonathan) Feldman; his aunt, Doreen (Philip) Dwyer; his cousins Michelle (Doug) Scarbrough, John (Kristina) Wickham, his uncle, Lars Nelson; his cousins Leif (Alisa) Nelson, Tabitha Nelson, Heather (Chuck) Nowak, and many second cousins.

June 14th Services:

Viewing at Brown's cremation and Funeral Service from 2 to 3 p.m. Followed immediately by a visitation from 3 to 4 p.m.

June 15th Services:

Viewing at Enjoy Church (720 Grand Ave, GJ, CO 81501) from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Followed immediately by the Service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m

Graveside: Orchard Mesa Cemetery (2620 Legacy Way GJ, CO 81503) at 2 p.m.
