In Loving Memory of Murl Anderson

The son of Kenneth Anderson and Lorraine Crawford and brother to Harold, Murl Anderson, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 15 at the age of 82.

Born September 4, 1941, Murl lived a life rich in love and laughter. He was the loving husband of Cherry with his legacy extending to his children, Reagan (Jennifer), Creighton (Mary Kay) and Sabra (Sean Albert), and his grandchildren, Annabelle, Kennedy, Charlotte, Cooper and Willem.

Murl's generosity knew no bounds, especially when it came to his grandchildren. He delighted in giving them "popcorn money" and treating them to pie at midnight.

Murl's passion for life was evident in his love for all things Oklahoma. He graduated from Mangum High School in 1959 and the University of Oklahoma in 1964. Saturdays were for cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners football team.

Professionally, Murl’s early career was as the co-owner of Austins Men’s Wear in Enid, Oklahoma from 1965 until the time he moved his family to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1981. Murl opened his State Farm Insurance office and dedicated nearly four decades of his life leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he served.

As we say our goodbyes, we celebrate the life of a remarkable man, marked by a deep connection to the things that mattered most.

Murl had a special place in his heart for his loyal dog, Jake. In lieu of flowers Murl would prefer a donation to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society, https://rhhumanesociety.org/donate/ or the YoungLife Foundation at foundation.younglife.org/give

At this time there are no services planned.
