Meredith Pratt

Meredith Lee Kimbriel Pratt, 86, died on November 2, at St Mary’s Hospital, as the result of an automobile accident. Meredith was born on July 20, 1936 in Greenville, Mississippi, and was the daughter of the late Rex and Lou Lee Reynolds Kimbriel. She graduated from E.E. Bass High School, Greenville, Mississippi in 1954. Meredith married William (Bill) Pratt on February 6, 1955 and they traveled the world together. As a homemaker, Meredith cared for her husband and her four children while Bill pursued his career as an Air Force pilot. Among their favorite assignments were Germany and England. They also lived in many parts of the United States. Meredith and Bill moved to Rangely, Colorado in 1975 and eventually retired in Grand Junction. Meredith developed a keen interest in Southwestern and Native American art and she displayed much of her own art work in art shows across the Western Slope, earning many awards. As a Colorado Master Gardener, Meredith organized several area garden tours and helped disseminate knowledge of plants and gardens while making many new friends in the Grand Junction area. Meredith was preceded in death by her infant daughter Stephanie. She is survived by her husband Bill Pratt of Grand Junction, Colorado, her daughter Melanie Hassler (Randal) of Yarrow Point, Washington, her son William Pratt (Carol) of Aurora, Colorado, her son Robert Pratt (Alicia) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and her son Leslie Pratt (Diane) of Forest, Virginia as well as fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
