Mercy Pauline Archuleta

Mercy Pauline “Nana” Archuleta, of Grand Junction, Colorado, was born on June 3, 1935, and passed away peacefully in her home on November 13, 2025, at the age of 90. 

Mercy grew up in the San Luis Valley, where she attended school and spent much of her early childhood. She later moved to Grand Junction, where she and her late husband, Steven Archuleta Sr., raised their family with love, dedication, and faith. 

Mercy worked for more than 20 years at Coors Ceramics as a shipping and receiving clerk before retiring. Outside of work, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and simply being surrounded by her family. She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was blessed to travel throughout the country with her eldest son, Richard (Cathy), and held a special fondness for her visit to Graceland. 

Mercy’s legacy is carried on through her large and loving family. She was the proud mother of 8 children, grandmother to 21 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 33 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandmother to 15. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Zack and Cyria Sanchez; her husband, Steve Archuleta Sr.; siblings Martha Nunez, Esther Sanchez, and Joseph Sanchez; and her sons Steven Archuleta Jr. (Grand Junction), Samuel Archuleta (Aurora), and Ronald Archuleta (Denver). 

She is survived by her sons Richard Archuleta (Cathy) of Littleton, Robert Archuleta of Grand Junction, and David Archuleta (Melissa) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; daughters Cora Archuleta of Grand Junction, Claudette Mienke of Colorado Springs, Corina Otero (John) of Minnesota, and Sherry Archuleta of Aurora. She is also survived by siblings Zack Sanchez (Liz) of Farmington, and Nellie Lavadie and Margaret Salas (Ralph) of Grand Junction.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at The River Church, 636 29 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504.
