Mary Katherine "Kathy" McKim, nee Westmoreland, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 75. Born in California on May 7, 1948, Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for the entirety of her career, making a difference in the lives of many.

Throughout her career, Kathy worked in various areas of nursing, including dialysis and hospice, but her true passion was caring for infants and children. She not only provided compassionate care but also inspired others, such as her daughter, to pursue careers in nursing. Her commitment to her profession and the well-being of her patients was unwavering.

Kathy was a joyful and kind soul, known for her sense of humor and her involvement in women's ministry at the Palisade Church of the Nazarene. She found solace in her faith and was a believer in Christ her whole life. In her free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, egg carving, sugar work, and collecting miniature dachshunds. She also cherished moments spent at the movies and watching her grandson perform in the theater. Kathy also shared a special bond with her son over food fights, adding a touch of fun to their relationship.

Kathy deeply valued her role as a devoted wife of 49 years. She is survived by her loving husband Dennis, and her children Drew (Jenni) McKim, Macy (Ryan) Wilson, and grandson Caleb Knight. She is also survived by her sisters Sue and Jane Westmoreland, along with many nieces and nephews, and her faithful miniature dachshunds Penny, Ricky, and Lucy as well as her mutt Mr. B,. She was predeceased by her brother Bill, her grandmother Emma, and her parents Ellen and Edgar.

A memorial service will be held at the Palisade Church of the Nazarene, 3595 Front Street, Palisade, CO, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society in Grand Junction, CO, in honor of Kathy's love for animals.

Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
