Mary Elizabeth Heritage

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Nutting Heritage, age 87, died on May 1, 2025. Betty was the daughter of the late Burtis “Doc” Nutting and Margaret “Johney” Nutting. Betty grew up in Glenwood Springs Colorado, where she made many lifelong friends. Betty was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She worked as a registered nurse throughout her adult life. Betty enjoyed being in groups of people, whether it was Bible study, playing cards, or playing volleyball in the park. Betty had a life-long passion for animals. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her dogs. Betty’s last visitors in this life were her Maltese dogs, Bailee and Johney, who said their goodbyes at the hospice center. Betty was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lila Nutting. She is survived by her brother Jim (Amor) Nutting; daughter DeLisa Orren; granddaughter Nichole (Napoleon, NJ, Emmett & Colette) Aniciete; grandson Scott (Christina, Louisa & Burke) Orren; niece Catherine (David, Nick and Ben) Lane; niece Lisa Marie (John, Solomon, Isaiah, Selah) Cranmer; and nephew Nick (April, Nicholas, Landon, & Belle) Nutting. She also dearly loved her friends of nearly 60 years, Pat and Sandy Patrick, and their family.

In honoring Betty’s wishes, there will be no services. We know that she would be pleased if you spend some extra quality time with your pets in her memory.
