Marvin Ray Evridge Jr., age 57, died in his sleep June 20, 2024, after a brief hospital stay. He was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on February 8, 1967. He was the son of Belinda Mae Justice and Marvin Ray Evridge Sr. Several years later Ray was adopted by his grandparents Ray and Grace Evridge. He attended high school at Carlisle High School in Pennsylvania and graduated in the class of 1985.
Ray was a musician and entertainer at heart. He always referred to music as his first job. He was the lead singer/piano player of multiple bands throughout his life. In the early 90’s, Ray's band Occam’s Razor won the “Battle of the Bands" in Denver, Colorado. Ray, with his long jet black hair at the time, also won best lead vocalist. Ray found his deep appreciation for Rockabilly music as a child as a self-taught musician. Later he formed The Pharaoh’s Rockabilly band. The Pharaoh’s played for many years in the Denver music scene and throughout Colorado. The Pharaoh’s have a strong fan base in Denver and his love for Rockabilly will live on with them.
Ray also owned a business, Evridge Properties, LLC. He was a General Contractor remodeling homes and using his incredible hard work ethic and creativity as his second job. Ray had a special talent for design and his business was well known in the Denver area. Ray was also a member of the Knights Templar and stayed true to his commitment to them.
Ray enjoyed watching the Broncos, comedy movies, classic TV shows, motorcycles, guns, socializing, making memories, and having a good time with a cold drink. Ray especially loved and enjoyed his soulmate Tia Evridge who passed away two years ago. Ray and Tia were always together and shared an unbreakable bond. They were an exceptional couple and everyone enjoyed spending time with them.
Ray was outgoing, unbelievably charismatic, and a natural leader. He was a constant jokester and he never met a stranger in his life. Ray touched thousands of people in his own unique way as he lived life his way…with incredible zest.. Ray valued his family, friends, Catholic Religion, and his music fans.
Ray was preceded in death by: Marvin Ray Evridge Sr., Belinda Mae Justice, Ray and Grace Evridge, Sebastian Evridge, and Tia Evridge.
Ray is survived by: Amber Evridge, Alexa Matson, Brandi (Greg) Smith, Glen (Debbie) Blackburn, Walt (Virginia) Blackburn, Alta (Charlie) Kuzov, Tony (Mistalynn) Kuzov, Jason (Christina) Kuzov, Robert Evridge, LindyLu Evridge, and Ron Evridge. Grandchildren: Kaden (18), Adelajda (9), and Gaige (1).
Celebration of Life will be held July 14, 2024, at 12:00 pm, at the Athenian Restaurant located at 15350 E. Iliff Ave, Aurora, CO. 80013
