July 23, 1947 – June 7, 2025

Marshall A. Martin passed away on June 7th, 2025, after a decades-long battle with heart disease. He was known to his friends and family as a loyal companion, a passionate learner, an engaging character, and an articulate, tireless conversationalist. Marshall never shied away from even the most challenging topics, always eager to share his compelling knowledge—whether you asked for it or not! Marshall met his wife, Nancy Angle, at the Colorado School of Mines, where Nancy was teaching and Marshall was pursuing his doctorate. They married in 1984 and later moved to Southern California, where Marshall worked as a petroleum engineer for Chevron and Nancy taught mathematics at Cerritos College. Marshall later transitioned to a new careers as a high-end woodworking tool retailer and, eventually, a talented fine-finish wood craftsman. In 2000, they relocated to Grand Junction, where both later retired. Marshall and Nancy were a fun couple and were always good for great conversation and many laughs. Nancy passed away in 2022, and Marshall continued to reside in Grand Junction until his passing. Marshall was an active volunteer in the community, contributing his time to organizations such as Homeward Bound, Catholic Outreach, and the Mesa County Democrats. He was a passionate advocate for healthcare access and equity and followed politics like a hawk. Marshall was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially devoted to the Denver Nuggets and Broncos. He is survived by his brother, Paul, of California; his sister, Dorothy, of Ottawa, Canada; and his stepchildren: Mike (Elene) Hubka, Tim (Cathy) Hubka, Steve Hubka, and Sharon (Dave) MacGregor.

A remembrance gathering for friends will be held in Grand Junction at a later date. The family wishes to thank all who supported Marshall through his health challenges in recent years. In memory of Marshall please join the resistance against the current fascist government.
