It is with heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for her beautiful life, that we share the passing of our beloved Mary. On August 14, 2025, at the age of 43, Mary left this world peacefully, surrounded by the people she loved most.
Mary was born on January 17, 1982, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Leo and Linda Hupert. From the very beginning, she radiated energy, humor, and an extraordinary gift for bringing laughter and love to those around her. From the moment she was born, we all knew she was destined to be someone truly special.
She grew up in Grand Junction, attending local schools before graduating from Fruita Monument High School in 2000. Mary loved soccer and shined on the soccer field as the fearless goalie. Her teammates became lifelong friends, and the memories made on the field stayed with her always. She was remembered by her classmates for her quick wit and even earned the title of “Class Clown.”
Mary was blessed in 2007 with the birth of her beloved son, Ryder Dylan Dabbs. In 2016, Mary went on to marry her best friend and the love of her life, Nick Turner, and with him came the gift of a bonus son, Travis. Together, they shared so many adventures and built an incredible life filled with laughter and memories. They recently bought their dream home in Loma and absolutely loved the “country life”. Mary created a home that was filled with the joy of dogs, a cat, chickens, and ducks—each one loved and spoiled in true Mary fashion. She loved the outdoors, new adventures, and most importantly cheering for her favorite team Da Bears, thanks to Nick. A big highlight in her life was being honored as an MLB Bat Girl for the Colorado Rockies—an unforgettable recognition of her strength and spirit. She was also the life of the party, the one who could make anyone laugh, no matter the situation. When someone was in need, she was always the first to show up with kindness, support, and strength. She was a friend to all, living life to the fullest and making an impact on all of us; one that will last a lifetime.
She is survived by her husband Nick; sons Ryder and Travis; mother, Linda; godmother, Sandy DuCray; and many extended family members and endless friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo and is now reunited in Heaven with him.
Mary will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 2pm at 1256 M Road in Loma, CO at the Turner Residence. Family and friends are invited to attend and share in honoring her memory.
