Margaret Eleanor Bowman

With hearts full of sorrow, we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Margaret “Peggy” Eleanor (Van Wagenen) Bowman. Peggy is lovingly remembered by her children, Patrick Galligan of Denver, daughter Shannon Galligan-Kennedy and son-in-law David Galligan-Kennedy of [Peoria, AZ]; her cherished grandchildren Kelcey (32), Elijah(28), Madison(20) and Isabella(19); as well as step grandsons (Christopher (37) and Korey (36) Kennedy) and their families. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband and the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Bowman, on July 13, 2023. Together, Peggy and Dick enjoyed traveling in their RV, especially to the Pacific Northwest, where they made countless memories with family. Peggy’s heart was especially tender toward animals—she adopted many rescue dogs over the years, giving them loving, safe homes. Peggy retired in 2002 from the Water Quality Control Division, where she dedicated many years supporting small communities across Colorado by helping secure funding for safe drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities. Peggy was also known for her beautifully kept home, which she delighted in sharing with others. A loyal friend and neighbor, Peggy brought warmth, kindness, and laughter into the lives of those around her—often accompanied by a bottle of wine from her favorite Palisade wineries. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
