Obituary

Marcella (Marcy) Enriquez, 80, a resident of Grand Junction, passed away on January 29,

2026, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.

Born on February 26, 1945, in Las Animas, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Frank

Martinez and Eumelia Cardenas. She attended Las Animas High School then later moved

to Halsted, Kansas, where she met and married her late husband Frank D. Enriquez and

moved to Newton, Kansas. They got married on June 25, 1966. Later in their life, they

moved and settled in Grand Junction, CO to be close to her late brother George Martinez

and his family.

Marcy had been employed as a Certified Central Sterile tech at Community Hospital and

later at St. Mary’s Hospital. She has had many different job titles throughout her lifetime

which include CNA for nursing homes, daycare worker, worked for State of Kansas caring

for the elderly, Materials management, and Physical Therapy assistant just to name a few.

She was dedicated to her children and her husband.

Marcy had unwavering strength, always full of life and energy. Marcy was dedicated to her

family and was the heartbeat and foundation of our family. She enjoyed going to garage

sales, crocheting, collecting chicken, rooster, Betty Boop, and angel figurines, always

watched her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless, and loved spending time with

her family and her many precious Chihuahuas throughout her years, especially Angel baby

and Diesel.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished friend

whose warmth, generosity, and unwavering love and kindness touched everyone she met.

Marcy was preceded in death by her husband Frank D. Enriquez, Grand Junction, CO., both

of her parents, Frank and Eumelia Martinez, and her brother George Martinez, Grand

Junction, Colorado.

Marcy is survived by her children, Yolanda (Gary) Keen, Antoinette Enriquez, Margaret

Enriquez, and son Frank D. Enriquez, Jr. As well as six grandchildren, Danielle (JeƯ) Cox,

Nicholas Smith, Christopher Keen, Asa Barnes-Enriquez, Samantha (Tristen)

MedicineHorse, Kyli Barnes. And Seven great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Memphis, Percilla,

Damian, Xyla, Rex, and Viola.
