Manuel Joseph Renteria, 75, passed away on February 27, 2026, following a long illness.

Manuel was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, to the late Jacinto and Sarah Renteria. He attended Grand Junction High School and remained a proud member of the Grand Junction community throughout his life.

Manuel dedicated 46 years of his life to his career as a journeyman painter. In the final ten years before his retirement, he enjoyed working in shipping and receiving alongside his sister Estella at Wiggys Inc. He was a hardworking man who expressed his love for his family through his strong work ethic, loyalty, and unwavering dedication.

A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manuel lived a life rooted in faith and family.

He had a deep love for music and proudly played the drums in a family band. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping brought him great happiness. In his earlier years, he bowled in two leagues and built many lasting friendships. And no one could forget his favorite indoor pastime, going to bingo. It was something he truly looked forward to.

Manuel was known as a jokester, very outgoing and sometimes a little mischievous. He brought laughter wherever he went and will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Jacinto Renteria; his brother, Frank; and his sisters, Mary, Vicki, and Tina.

Manuel is survived by his beloved wife, Dora Renteria of Grand Junction, Colorado; his children, Manuel of Grand Junction, Elias (Cristian) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Michelle (Steven) of Battlement Mesa, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandsons Andrew, Cesar, and Gabriel; his granddaughter Alexia; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by his brothers Elias of Salt Lake City and Ben of St. Lucie, Florida; his sister Helen of Washington; and his sisters Estella, Connie, Rosie, Beatrice, Dolores, and Maryann, all of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. at Browns Memorial Chapel, 904 7th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10am. Interment will follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, with a light luncheon at the Parish Hall at St. Joseph's
