Linda Lou Young passed away peacefully at her home in Fruita, Colorado in the presence of loved ones on December 23, 2024 at the age of 79. Linda was born in Pasadena, California on 3/9/1945 to Ross Pulaski and Nelda (Swensen) Pulaski.
Linda spent her younger years in Pasadena with her mother and then moved to Big Pine, California to finish high school with her dad. She graduated from high school in Big Pine, California in 1963.
Soon after high school Linda married James Patrick Arnett and they made a home in the Bishop area. Cheryl Lynn Arnett (now Chy Arnett French) was born in 1964 and Melanie Lee Arnett was born in 1968. Linda and Pat divorced when the girls were still young and married Jerry McDonald, who died in a car crash. Linda then met the love of her life, Rodney Kent Young, and became "Forever Young" in 1976 when she married him in Bishop, California.
Over the years, Rod and Linda made homes in Bishop (Round Valley), Palmdale and Big Pine. In Bishop, Linda worked for Valley Federal Savings as a Teller, Operations Supervisor and Senior New Accounts Officer. In Round Valley, Linda worked for Umetco Minerals (Union Carbide) as an Invoice Auditor and Safety Clerk/Technician. When Rod retired, they moved to Moroni, Utah. Rod passed away in 2008, and in 2009 Linda moved to Fruita, Colorado.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, hiking, photography, road trips, volunteering, crafting, and painting. The thing that most defined Linda, however, was her deep commitment to tending positive thoughts.
Linda was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. She is survived by her two daughters Cheryl (Chy) Arnett-French and Melanie Lee Arnett, her granddaughter Coddi Mota Price, her grandsons Michael Garrett Kelly, Thomas Arnett McCoy, and Beckett Arnett McCoy, and one great granddaughter Rhylie Moronge.
In lieu of flowers, the best way to honor Linda's life is to spend time contemplating this: your thoughts are the tool that shapes your life. You have the power to shape your thoughts. Work to push out negativity, anxiety, and fear. Instead, focus on positivity, strength, and an ambition to meet a positive goal. If you only do one thing in a day, make sure it is with this dedication to keeping your thoughts positive.
