Linda Vaughn
December 9, 1952 to July 7, 2026
Linda Vaughn, 73, of Fruita, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 9, 1952, in Fruita, Colorado, Linda spent her life in the community she loved. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave to everyone around her.
To so many people, Linda wasn't just Erick and Sierra's mom. She was everyone's mom. Friends were always welcome in her home, and she had a way of making everyone feel like family. If you needed someone in your corner, Linda was there.
She was an incredible mother who devoted her life to her family. She celebrated every success, comforted every disappointment, and was always the first to stand up for her kids. Whether it was a teacher, a coach, or anyone else, Linda always had our backs. Looking back now, those moments bring smiles, laughter, and stories that will be told for generations.
Linda also wasn't afraid to stand her ground. She was fiercely protective of the people she loved, and if you crossed someone she cared about, you quickly learned that you did not want to be on Linda's bad side. She had a strong spirit, a quick wit, and a determination that earned the respect of everyone who knew her.
In her free time, Linda loved cheering on the Denver Nuggets and watching basketball. More than anything, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren. To them, and to many others who knew and loved her, she was simply "Nani," a name that reflected the warmth, unconditional love, and kindness she shared with every child she welcomed into her heart.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Randy Vaughn; her daughter, Sierra Vaughn; her son, Erick Vaughn (Melissa); her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Brett), Jordan, and Shastynn; her brothers, Randy Zamora (Wendy) and Paul Zamora (Kathryn); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
She is now reunited with those who went before her, including her father, Abe Zamora; her mother, Connie Zamora; and her brother, Ben Zamora. While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is finally home and at peace.
The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown throughout Linda's illness and after her passing.
In keeping with Linda's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, family and friends will gather at a later date for a casual celebration of her life, sharing stories, laughter, and memories, just as Linda would have wanted.
Linda's love, fierce loyalty, strength, and unforgettable personality will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She may be gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.
