Obituary

Linda Raley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, was called to rest on August 21st at her home in Grand Junction, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Born on January 18, 1945, in Denver, she was the daughter of Lon and Nettie Robbins. Linda was the only child out of her ten siblings to have been born in a hospital. Linda and her many brothers and sisters worked, played, and created much mischief on and around the family farm outside of Byers, Colorado.

On December 26, 1962, Linda married the love of her life, Harold Raley. Their marriage was a beautiful union that spanned many decades, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Together they raised three children: Harold “Tre” (Brenda) Raley, Charlotte (Blaine) Vecchia, and Tammy (Jim) Justice. Linda was blessed with seven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren who brought immense joy into her life.

Linda's strength and spirit extended beyond her family as she dedicated her life to being a homemaker and caretaker on their property in East Orchard Mesa. Over the years she and Harold tended livestock, harvested alfalfa, and grew the sweetest peaches in the valley. Linda greatest pride was for the home and family she and Harold created together.

She had a passion for reading, often found with a book in hand. She had a wealth of knowledge of history, specifically about Native Americans and shared many memories of the arrowheads and stone tools she found around her childhood home on the plains east of Denver.

A private family gathering will be held to honor Linda's life at a yet to be determined date. In this time of sorrow, the family extends heartfelt gratitude to the friends, family, and neighbors who have offered their unwavering support and kindness during these recent months.

Linda Raley's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, family, and strength. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family. May she rest in peace.
